MusicNOW, Symphony Center's contemporary music series, presents the world premiere performances of three MusicNOW commissions in 2008-2009: new works by Gonzalo Grau, Derrick Hodge, and Jeremy Flower; CSO Mead Composer-in-Residence Mark-Anthony Turnage's Out of Black Dust (a MusicNOW co-commission with the Berlin Philharmonic and the Barbican Centre) receives its U.S. premiere. MusicNOW also will introduce Chicago to new music by such composers as Brett Dean, Heiner Goebbels, Lee Hyla, Michael Ward-Bergeman, Hanspeter Kyburz, and Mead Composer-in-Residence Osvaldo Golijov, among others, performed by musicians from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
