Joshua Bell has enchanted audiences worldwide with his breathtaking playing and tone of rare opulence. The Indiana native will thrill Chicago audiences with performances of Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 and Saint-Saëns’ virtuosic Introduction and Rondo capriccioso. Bell will play the “Mona Lisa” of concert violins, a famous 1741 Vieuxtemps Guarneri del Gesu. The rare instrument has been played by a long lineage of great virtuosos including Henri Vieuxtemps, Eugene Ysaye, and Yehudi Menuhin.
