Concerto for Orchestra
The joyous Overture to
Candide sets the perfect mood to usher in the new concert season. Israeli violinist Vadim Gluzman makes his CSO subscription debut in Bernstein’s Serenade. This five-movement concerto is based on Plato’s
Symposium, a philosophical dialogue on the nature of love. Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra, a signature CSO piece, allows every section of the orchestra to show its virtuosity.
